About this calculator

UK Salary Calculator — see your take-home pay for 2025/26

Our UK Salary Calculator shows exactly how much of your gross salary you keep after Income Tax, National Insurance, pension contributions and student loan repayments. Enter an annual, monthly or hourly figure and see your take-home pay broken down per year, month and week for the 2025/26 tax year — with 2024/25 available for comparison.

It is built for employees, jobseekers comparing offers, freelancers planning a return to PAYE, and anyone budgeting for a pay rise, salary sacrifice arrangement or new role. Pension and student loan options (Plans 1, 2, 4, 5 and Postgraduate) make it easy to see how each deduction shapes your monthly net pay.

The calculation uses HMRC's published thresholds: a £12,570 personal allowance, 20% basic rate to £50,270, 40% higher rate to £125,140 and 45% additional rate above. Class 1 employee National Insurance is applied at 8% between £12,570 and £50,270 and 2% on earnings above. The personal allowance tapers by £1 for every £2 earned over £100,000. Results are estimates and may differ from your payslip depending on tax code, benefits in kind and individual circumstances.
