UK financial website terms

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of Money Tools UK and the calculators, guides and content we publish. Please read them carefully — by using the site you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: 13 May 2026

Money Tools UK ("we", "us", "our") operates moneytoolsuk.co.uk (the "Site"). These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and us when you access or use the Site.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By browsing the Site, using any calculator or reading any guide, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use Money Tools UK.

2. Calculator accuracy disclaimer

Our calculators are provided as informational tools to help you estimate UK tax, take-home pay, property returns and similar figures. While we take significant care to align calculations with HMRC guidance, current tax bands and published rates, we cannot guarantee that every result is accurate, complete or up-to-date for your specific circumstances.

  • Results are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the assumptions documented on each calculator page.
  • Tax bands, National Insurance thresholds, Stamp Duty rules and lender criteria change over time and may differ from those used at the moment of calculation.
  • Edge cases — such as Scottish income tax, marriage allowance, multiple income streams, salary sacrifice arrangements and non-standard IR35 positions — may not be reflected exactly.
  • Always cross-check important figures with HMRC, your accountant, mortgage adviser or other qualified professional before making decisions.

3. Financial information — not advice

The information, calculators and guides on Money Tools UK are provided for general information and educational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, tax, legal, mortgage, investment or accounting advice and must not be relied upon as such.

Money Tools UK is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). We do not provide regulated financial services, recommend specific products, or assess the suitability of any product or strategy for your circumstances.

Before acting on any information from the Site you should obtain advice from a suitably qualified and FCA-regulated professional where applicable. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and the value of property and investments can go down as well as up.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Money Tools UK, its owners, contributors and affiliates exclude all liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any calculator;
  • Reliance on any calculation, figure, guide or other content;
  • Errors, inaccuracies, omissions or out-of-date information;
  • Decisions made — financial, tax, contractual or otherwise — based on output from the Site;
  • Interruptions, downtime, viruses or other technical issues affecting the Site.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:

  • Use the Site in any way that breaches UK law or regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, databases or any connected infrastructure;
  • Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious or harmful material;
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror or systematically extract content from the Site without our prior written consent, beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt;
  • Impose an unreasonable load on the Site or interfere with its operation, including via automated tools or bots;
  • Re-publish or commercially exploit our calculators, content or results without permission.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user who breaches these terms.

6. Intellectual property

All content on Money Tools UK — including calculator logic, code, copy, guides, branding, logos, design, layout and underlying tax and finance models — is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by UK and international copyright, trade mark and database rights laws.

You may view, download and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, transmit or commercially exploit any part of the Site without our prior written permission.

"Money Tools UK", the Money Tools UK wordmark and any associated logos are trade marks of Money Tools UK. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

7. Affiliate disclosure

Money Tools UK is a free service. To support the cost of building and maintaining the calculators we may include affiliate links to third-party providers — such as umbrella companies, accountants, mortgage brokers, property platforms and financial product comparison sites.

If you click an affiliate link and subsequently use the partner's service, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Where required, affiliate or sponsored content is identified clearly.

Affiliate relationships do not influence the figures produced by our calculators, the rankings of providers, or the editorial guidance in our tools and guides. Our editorial principles are explained on the About page.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and Money Tools UK both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the Site.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, the law or industry practice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
